For domain traders, investors and registrars

Every number sourced.
Every decision
defensible.

Constellation Domain values domains from real sales data, not from gut feeling. Every number shows what it rests on, and where the data falls short, the platform says so.

01

Only market data sets the price

What a domain is worth is decided by comparable sales. How catchy a name sounds is a separate reading and does not move the valuation by a cent.

02

Every number states where it came from

One click reveals the source, how old it is, how heavily it was weighted and which formula produced the result. None of it is a black box.

03

No evidence, no price

Without enough comparable sales it says plainly that the data is not sufficient, and what is missing. We never guess.

The difference

You always know where you stand

Sample analysis · vault.comSales figures here are illustrative, not live
Market value range$180,000 to $240,000
Evidence 77 of 100

Derived from five comparable sales. The more similar and the more recent a sale, the more it counts.

Memorability84 / 100
Evidence 75 of 100

How the name reads, not what it is worth. This number deliberately stays out of the price range.

Data partners

Sales data from the community itself.

Trading happens in forums, not in press releases. We are currently setting up access to the sales data of these two with their operators. No detour through third parties, no scraping against anyone’s will, but an agreement both sides sign. Until it is in place, you will not see a single figure from it here.

The architecture

Three layers that are never mixed

Trust comes first from data, then from perception, then from strategy. Mix the three into one number and you get a number nobody can defend.

ISets the price

Market Evidence

Sets the price. This layer only.

Comparable sales, auction results, search volume, liquidity, renewal costs. Every value comes from a named source. If the data falls short, the platform names no price.

Brand Psychology

Describes perception. Never enters the price.

Twelve metrics covering pronounceability, memorability, premium feel and more. Computed deterministically and therefore reproducible. Every metric shows its methodology, none is added to the price.

The platform

Eight modules, one foundation

No estimates. No black box.
Every number is evidenced — or marked.

Insufficient data

solarbase.deThere are not enough comparable sales for a defensible price range. Found: 1, required: at least 3.

Scientific foundation

Why perception is measurable

I

Sound symbolism

Köhler 1929 · Sapir 1929 · Yorkston & Menon 2004

Sounds trigger measurable associations independently of meaning. Front vowels read small and fast, back vowels large and heavy, plosives decisive. This is where the emotional impact metric comes from.

II

Cognitive load

Miller 1956 — The Magical Number Seven

The fewer units a name asks you to hold, the faster recognition forms. Length and syllable count therefore feed memorability, not the price.

III

Mere exposure effect

Zajonc 1968 · Journal of Personality and Social Psychology

Repeated encounters with a name raise how it is judged, without the person noticing. Memorable domains work passively for their owner, which explains their marketing value.

IV

Limits of the method

Our own rule

These models describe perception, not willingness to pay. That is why no perception value reaches full confidence, and none moves a price range.
